Cataloging Moving Image Materials Edition/Version (MARC field 250) Because AMIMís distinction between major and minor change versions is not helpful for the purposes of cataloging performing arts documentation footage, it is therefore recommended that AACR2 rules be preferred over AMIM guidelines. Any change considered significant to the cataloger should be considered an edition, or "version," as it is more commonly referred to with moving image works. Do not include version statements related to filming in the edition/version area. Record these statements in field 562 note (i.e. close shot version) (see [get number for 562 note if it is added] 2B1. [7.2B1] Transcribe a statement referring to an edition/version of a moving image that contains differences from other editions/versions of that work, or to a named reissue or rerelease.
2B3. [7.2B3] Follow AACR2's option: If the work lacks an edition/version statement but is known to contain significant changes from other editions/versions, supply a suitable brief statement and enclose it in brackets. If the repository holds copies of other versions, include that information in a note (500 field, see 7B1-3). Use subfield 5 for notes that do not apply to a universal description of the item.
2C1. [7.2C1] Transcribe a statement of responsibility relating to that edition/version, but not to all editions/versions, of a work following the edition statement (in subfield b).
